Count the open slots , but that’s only part of the answer. Available capacity also depends on the load already on the panel. We do a panel capacity assessment before any new circuit work to give you an honest answer.
Do I need a permit to add a new circuit?
In most California jurisdictions, yes. Adding a circuit involves new wiring in walls, a new breaker in the panel, and an outlet or connection point , all of which require a permit and inspection. We pull the permit and schedule the inspection.
What is an AFCI breaker and do I need one?
Arc Fault Circuit Interrupters detect dangerous arcing in the wiring that a standard breaker won’t catch. California’s current code requires AFCI protection for all bedroom and living area circuits. If you’re adding circuits in those rooms, AFCI breakers are required.
Why would a breaker fail?
