I came up in the Navy, where electrical work is not a hobby and a mistake on a live system is not a learning opportunity. You check it, you check it again, and you do not touch anything until you understand what is in front of you. That habit never left. It is the reason I can stand in front of an old panel that nobody else wants to open and stay calm while I read it.
When the internet was still finding its feet, I built and wired server rooms. More than thirty years. I came up through the Navy, wired some of the internet’s earliest server rooms when that work was brand new, and have served Vacaville and the North Bay as a Master Electrician ever since. That is three decades of opening panels nobody else wants to touch.
